Background
Kiel is undergoing a significant transformation in public transportation, aligning with its vision for sustainability and improved urban mobility. A reliable water taxi system could serve as a key solution, reducing private vehicle dependency and promoting multi-modal transportation.
Objective
The project aimed to develop a user interface (UI) that ensures a safe and seamless experience for passengers using an autonomous water taxi. The UI was designed to build trust in self-navigating technology while addressing user concerns about safety, accessibility, and real-time information.
The information on the display changes according weather, time, speed, direction and travel conditions.

Through the User Journey Analysis, the need for a Head-Up Display as a key insight was identified.
